Smokin' Hot—Hot Kiss: Merry and Bright

Welcome to the Hot for Friday blog hop!

Greetings!

This week we're tasked with sharing a hot kiss, whether it's slow, eager, passionate, a kiss can be many things. *sigh* Check out the smokin' smooches and enjoy! :D

For my feature, I'm posting a scene from a current Resplendence Publishing release, Merry and Bright, a holiday menage.

For a little background, here is the book tagline:

For Presley, waking up between Gunnar and Frazier is one way to be merry and bright.

Bring on the smooches…

Once she gave in to her carnal need, meaning her rational brain shut down the moment two sets of lips touched her skin, she had a vague recollection of feeling like her clothes were being scorched off her body. But that might have been the path they burned to her bedroom, the discarded garments leaving a telltale trail along the way. She had a pretty certain idea Gunnar had had to help her remove Frazier's pants… or maybe the other way around. Didn't matter… it made her hot any way she thought about it.
Presley almost wanted to pinch herself. Almost. But she feared it would detract from the exquisite feeling the two sets of hands created when they softly caressed over her heated skin. And the lips. Oh… yes… lips added to the mix proved to be such a good thing.
Funny… she knew the warm ones nuzzling the back of her neck belonged to Frazier and Gunnar had the cool ones, skimming over her shoulder. Combined, working in tandem, the heady desire for the two men had her quivering with anticipation.

Book BlurbAfter losing her parents, Presley Griffith will be spending the holidays alone, and wishes new traditions were easier to establish. But instead of being by herself, she ends up in bed with Frazier Boyle and Gunnar Stewart. The cop and the firefighter heat things up and cool them down and Presley can't think of a better way to be merry and bright.

Sunday Snippet: Violating Space

Ugh. I've hit the nasty cold wall and did not bounce back. Bleh. I can happily say it's the first really icky cold I've had this winter.

Anyway, on to fun stuff. The third episode of Bitten rocked. I'm looking forward to seeing how different the elements play out from the books. So far, I love the changes. The Flash and Arrow each turned in solid episodes. Have to wait until mid-March for a new episode of The Flash, which is probably a good thing. I'm probably in the minority, but I actually want a lot less Iris. She's not my favorite character.

Tonight's post is from Violating Space, a sexy short where two coworkers act on a hot attraction.

Here's the tagline:

Reese Claymore has it bad for Eric Matthews but they work in the same department and can't really get together. Doesn't mean Reese can't express her interest—to the point of driving Eric a little insane over it. He decides to prove a point and invades her personal space, but his plan goes awry when he can't resist acting on his crazy impulse.

And snippety peek…

Reese loved to tease Eric. Shuffling the folders, she knocked briskly on his door and entered the office, walking with a slight added sway to her hips. She fixed a wide smile on her face.
Eric glanced up from his monitor and blinked, his gaze taking in the flirty peep toe heels, the A-line black skirt, and the iridescent blue blouse.
Keeping the grin on her face, she waved the files. "I have the cases you wanted to see." She finished crossing the floor and stopped in front of his desk.
Eric's lips curved. "Thank you. I truly appreciate you dropping them by."
She set the folders on the desk, leaning forward just enough to show a nice view of her cleavage. Sure enough, Eric's gaze dropped then snapped back up to hers.
She smirked. "No problem, Eric. I had to pull the Anderson file anyway." She straightened. "Anything else you need? I'll be back in the file room after lunch."
Eric narrowed his eyes, but answered. "Uh, no. I'll be all afternoon going over these." He tilted his head to one side. "But if you're looking for work, I'm sure I can find some."
Reese laughed. "I've got plenty to keep me busy. Just thought I'd offer since I've got two more to find later." She turned and started for the door. "Always happy to help you out, Eric."
He gave her a long, considering glance. "Right. I think you like to mess with my head more than help out."
Reese chuckled but didn't respond. Because she did enjoy pushing his buttons.
Reese is a hoot to write. And this one is a fun little story. J

That's it for this week. Happy reading!

Smokin' Hot—Hot Encounter: Creative Ink (A Black Unicorn Comic Adventure)

Welcome to the Hot for Friday blog hop!

Greetings!

This week we're tasked with sharing a hot encounter, whether it's the first time or one of many others between the characters. Awesome! As mentioned in last week's post, I'm in Ohio and the subzero temps make reading the hot and steamy even more of a treat. :D

For my feature, I'm sharing a steamy moment from my current release, Creative Ink, Episode One in the Black Unicorn Comic Adventure series.

For a little background, here are the series and book taglines:

Black Unicorn Comics—collective genius or creative madness—follow the adventures of Brian, Lucy and their friends and decide.

Brian and Lucy are on the verge of mainstream success—watch it happen in Creative Ink.

Bring on the hot stuff…

He let her have a few moments of fun before he turned the tables and worked her into a frenzy of need with his lips, tongue, and fingers, catching hold of her when she tried to dash up the stairs. The man had his own wicked good time, teasing and tantalizing, using feather light strokes, nips, and flicks while slowly urging her up the steps.
Lucy indulged one of Brian's few requests and let him remove whatever lingerie she had on, since she so rarely wore it at all. He slid the straps of the purple satin down so slowly Lucy thought she might have to take matters into her own hands. He'd still been in the mood to tease, tempt, and torment her after getting her all hot and bothered on the way up the stairs.
Lucy's bra hung from one of the iron knobs on the antique bed she'd inherited from her grandmother. The matching thong got buried somewhere under the frothy white comforter Brian's gran gave them as a housewarming gift when she'd visited from the UK.
He'd sped things up with the panties, hooking the scrap of fabric with one finger and giving it a few playful tugs until he cleared her feet. Shoving it off to the side, he delved between her legs and drove her mad with his mouth. Soft flicks turned stronger and harder when Brian flattened his tongue to swipe back and forth. He pushed her to the edge of orgasm twice before finally giving over control, rolling to his back and dragging Lucy up and over him. She gave him a wide smile, then lifted her hips, settling slowly over his rigid cock. His hands came up to cup her breasts and he left them there, kneading the flesh, brushing his thumbs over her taut nipples. Brian held her gaze, letting her set the pace while she rode him to a mind-bending climax.

Sunday Snippet: Vicarious Living

Once again, Bitten turned in a great episode. I'm loving the subtle shift to more dark and scary this season. Arrow and The Flash both had great episodes, too. I'm really looking forward to watching Oliver and Thea train together. I'm also thrilled Laurel finally told Lance about Sara. That particular storyline dragged on a lot longer than it should have.

A few new teasers have been airing for Orphan Black and my interest is growing by the day. Here's hoping be get some backstory for Paul. I'm really looking forward to seeing more of him this season.

Tonight's post is from Vicarious Living, a novella where hitting rock bottom and climbing back up brings my characters together.

Here's the tagline:

Sometimes adversity can be overcome and living vicariously through fantasy proves to be a good thing. Lola Humes and Wright Wesslop discover a mutual way to cope when they meet at their group counseling sessions. They're not supposed to interact outside the anonymous therapy gatherings, but neither is very good at following the rules.

And a snippety peek…

Lola entered the group therapy session and sat in the first empty chair she spotted. The nervous tension and desire for a stiff drink warred with each other, making her stomach churn in painful knots. She needed the meeting, but being around new and strange people always freaked her out.
Thanks, Mom.
An older woman took the seat next to Lola, leaning in to whisper. "Relax, dear. You've found a good group here." She handed Lola a peanut butter cookie.
Lola offered the woman a weak smile and took the treat. "Thank you, ma'am." She eyed the food, but couldn't bring it to her mouth, fear of hurling it up outweighing the nice gesture.
The lady patted her on the hand. "My name's Belinda. And you won't throw up, I promise." She nodded toward the cookie. "The nerves go away and you'll settle in just fine."
Lola nibbled a little then nodded. "Lola. And it's not really my first meeting. I just haven't been for a while."
Belinda smiled. "And we've all got new people smell, don't we?"
Lola laughed, liking the woman a lot. "I'm that obvious?" Of course, thanks to her mother, Lola didn't doubt she appeared terrified.
Belinda shook her head. "No, dear. But I've been around more than a few blocks. You just looked like you needed a kind face." Belinda winked. "I've been told I have one."
Lola nodded. "Oh, you do. And again, thank you." She finished off the cookie and grinned. "I'm going to take your word I won't be making a dash for the ladies' though."
Belinda chuckled, but broke off when the door opened and a blast of cold air swept through the room.
She shivered, but perked up. "Well, hello there, gorgeous."
Lola glanced toward the door and blinked. Gorgeous didn't quite do the man who walked through justice. Tall, dark hair, and piercing green eyes, something of a trifecta for Lola. She took in the entire package. Dark jeans, a hint of flannel under a black, leather jacket, with a red scarf knotted at his throat. His hands held her attention. Work worn and chapped from the cold, his long fingers curved around each other when he blew on them to warm them up.
Belinda patted Lola on the knee. "Dear, it was lovely to meet you, but I'm going to vacate this chair and hope that handsome guy take the hint."
Lola shook her head. She didn't need a truly hot man sitting next to her. Too late, he caught sight of the empty seat and made his way over, a tentative smile on his face.
Lola sucked in a deep breath and prayed she wouldn't say something stupid.
So far, I'm quite enjoying how the story is unfolding on this one. J

That's it for this week. Happy reading.

Smokin' Hot—Hot Bothered: Busted in Bubbles

Welcome to the Hot for Friday blog hop!

Authors: Get in on the fun and join here.

This week we're tasked with sharing a scene with sexual tension to leave us hot and bothered. Nice! Especially if you live in a cold climate… like Ohio in February. LOL

For my feature, I'm posting a scene from my current release Busted in Bubbles.

For a little background, here's the tagline:

Is there anything better than a bath time romp with a hot man? Emsley Bourne wants to find out.

Bring on the tension…

"Someone has to keep you on your toes, Ems. The whole short sheeting of my bed is fun and all, but come on… it's been a year." He leaned forward a little, his mouth hovering an inch from hers. "I think it's time to play something else, don't you?"
Emsley fought back a shudder. God, his voice sounded like good Scotch. Smooth, with just a touch of bite to it.
Her tongue flicked out, wetting her lower lip. "Something more grown up maybe?" She straddled his thighs and scooted forward until her hips were flush with his groin, his thick erection pressing against her. "I could go for that… if you're really game."
Rayne moved fast, capturing her lips in a very hot kiss. Emsley groaned low in her throat and gave herself over to the onslaught of sensory overload. His tongue swept inside her mouth and she responded, wrapping her arms around him, one hand traveling up to the back of his head, her fingers raking through his dark hair. The other slid down his back, drawing him closer. She wanted to feel his skin against hers. Craved the contact like an addict.
A first for her. She rarely felt a consuming need for sex. Then again, she'd had a thing for Rayne since the day they bumped into each other at his first conference three years ago. She'd gotten to know him, not well, but enough to know he found her attractive.

Book Blurb: Rayne McKinnon sells a lucrative security-consulting job and it's time to move on to his next objective: adding a partner. He wants Emsley Bourne, personally and professionally, and puts a plan in motion to achieve his goal. She only has to follow through with her usual tradition.

Emsley lives for the next thrill, in business and life. She's got a unique skill set and uses it to gain access to Rayne's cabin to follow through on her standard short-sheeting escapade. Imagine her surprise when she discovers Rayne soaking in a tub full of bubbles. Busted, she can either flee the scene—or join Rayne for some bath time fun.

Sunday Snippet: A Very Awkward Evening

February 8, 2015

WooHoo! Bitten is back and Elena is pissed off. All I'll say for now since it's not airing the US yet. Season two opened with a great episode. Looking forward to seeing how everything plays out. And The Walking Dead returned. I’m watching as I type. Interesting episode so far, very different, which I like.

Over on The Flash and Arrow, good efforts by both shows. I'm happy to see Oliver back in Starling City and the angst factor cranking up to a zillion. Gotham and Sleepy Hollow were okay, especially that ending on SH.

Now I just need Orphan Black to return and make my brain explode. LOL

Tonight's post is from, A Very Awkward Evening, a novella where my heroine's mom keeps everyone entertained.

Here's the tagline:

Vi Palona's rock star mom wants a sit down meeting with Garwin Noth's academic parents, which Vi keeps putting off because her mother, Mina, has no edit button. When Mina crashes a birthday dinner, Vi figures her mom can't do much damage… but five minutes into the meal she learns how wrong she is.

And a snippety peek…

Vi bit her cheek and told a bold-faced lie. "Sorry, Mom. This weekend isn't good." She stared out the window, the drizzling rain coming down harder. "Gar's folks are headed to an academic retreat."
Mina jumped back fast. "I thought they were divorced." Her voice took on a knowing tone. "Still spending the weekend together, huh? Weird."
Vi rolled her eyes. "They split up amicably. And they're adjunct professors at the same university. Not so strange." And before she could dig a deeper hole, Vi added. "Look, why don't Gar and I stop by your hotel after the show?"
Mina sighed. "Fine. But one of these days, I am coming to visit you and I will meet your man's parents."
Vi shuddered at the thought. "Yeah, okay, Mom. See you Saturday." She ended the call and blew out a relieved breath.
She jumped when Gar wrapped his arms around her, but relaxed into his embrace.
He pressed a kiss to her temple. "My parents are not going anywhere this weekend." His lips curved against her skin.
Vi shrugged. "I know, Gar. But your mom and dad are not—in any way—ready to meet Mina Vesper." Hell, no one should be considered ready to meet her mother.
Gar turned her so she faced him. "Vi, your mom isn't that bad."
Vi backed up, poking her finger into his shoulder. "Says the man she tried to get naked, backstage, after one of her shows." She turned, walked into the living area, and dropped down onto the sofa.
Garwin chuckled and followed behind. "But she didn't succeed." He settled in beside her. "And in her defense, you were in the ladies' room when she bumped into me."
Vi shook her head. "That's so not the point, Gar, and you know it."
Poor Vi never quite knows what to do with her mom. LOL

That's it for this week. Happy reading!

Smokin' Hot—Hot and Swoon-Worthy: Creative Ink (A Black Unicorn Comic Adventure)

Welcome to the Hot for Friday blog hop!

After a forced hiatus where I descended into deadline hell, I finally get to rejoin my fellow authors with a new Hot for Friday blog post. YAY!

This week we're tasked with posting a piece of dialog where our hero gets to take center stage and deliver a swoon-worthy line to the heroine. I can't wait to read some smooth moves from our heroes.

For my feature, I'm posting one of my favorite bits from my current release, Creative Ink, Episode One in the Black Unicorn Comic Adventure series.

For a little background, here are the series and book taglines:

Black Unicorn Comics—collective genius or creative madness—follow the adventures of Brian, Lucy and their friends and decide.

Brian and Lucy are on the verge of mainstream success—watch it happen in Creative Ink.

And the swoon-worthy dialog…(from Lucy's point of view)

Brian's mouth thinned. "You did not just say that." He grasped her arm, turning her to face him.
Lucy grimaced. "Yeah, I did." She couldn't quite believe it herself.
Brian shook his head. "Come now. You know Chelle made me mental long before Reg caught her eye. Two months into the relationship gave me more than enough reason to cut and run."
Chagrined, Lucy acknowledged the truth of his words. "Yeah, I know. And I'm sorry for the bitch comment."
Brian tugged her forward, moving his hand down to cup her ass. "You know what else?" He pressed their hips together, letting her feel the hard ridge of his cock under his jeans. "You're the only woman who has ever kept me in a constant state of arousal."

~*~

Lucy has a very playful and positive reaction to Brian's declaration. :D

Sunday Snippet: Veritas

February 1, 2015

One more week until Bitten returns with season two. I can't wait!! Banshee is amping up the tension and I'm looking forward to the next episode. Makes me miss Strike Back and look forward to whenever it comes back to my television screen.

My usual fare, The Flash, Arrow, Gotham, and Sleepy Hollow had good showings. I'm enjoying the story arc on Arrow even if my twitter feed seems to hold a different opinion. I love the flashbacks and how they reveal information about Oliver's time off the island.

Also need to take a moment to mention Lost Girl. It's the final season and I'm so going to miss the show when it's gone. Thankfully, I'll have Orphan Black to look forward to soon and will get to see Ksenia Solo in a new role. J

Tonight's post is from Veritas, a novella where a friendly fire incident brings a couple home to their truth.

Here's the tagline:

Tillie Cruz has a moment of veritas when she shoots Faxon Jarvis in a friendly fire incident. The realization she wants a life with him may be too late because Faxon has a new relationship and Tillie doesn't want to mess it up. But she may not have to—her bullet may have done the trick.

A snippety peek…

Tillie spun around and faced Faxon. "You know what? We're done here." She gathered up her gear. "Don't bother stopping by after your shift is over, because you're no longer welcome."
Faxon crossed his arms over his chest. "Cut and run? Why doesn’t that surprise me?"
Tillie fought the urge to punch him. "Because you know how goddamned annoying you are?" Biting words worked just as good as physical violence.
Faxon's nostrils flared, but he didn't speak.
Tillie smirked. "Exactly. You don't have the right to get in my way. I know what I'm doing out there." She flung her jacket over her shoulder. "If you'll remember, I graduated from the academy." She angled her around. "At a higher standing than you, I might add."
Faxon's mouth thinned to a slash across his face. "Yeah, you did. But you're too cocky out there, Tills." He turned and opened his locker. "And someday that's going to bite you on the ass." His gaze met hers. "Hard."
She snorted and headed for the exit. "Whatever. I get the job done." She strolled out the door and left Faxon behind, putting him firmly out of her mind.
She had a solid reputation and he had no business raking her over the coals for putting herself in danger. They were cops. Peril came with the work.
Nothing like a little conflict to get things started. J

That's it for this week. Happy reading.
