Sunday Snippet: Fair Play

If anyone is headed into a major heat wave this week like I am, stay hydrated! And try to stay cool, especially if your location is as humid as mine is. Humidity is a nightmare.

Had a busy and productive week. Making good progress on two of my projects and sliding in some random finishing bits on a few others.

Started a huge cleanup job in the kitchen. My poor countertops need to be reorganized and cleared of clutter. I got the largest one scrubbed down and mostly organized. Still need to find a new home for a few items.

Also have some mundane tasks to plow through this week. Not sure I'll make it but I can't put it off any longer. My procrastination skills are top notch!

Had a decent viewing week. I ended up making it through my usual slate of shows, which rather makes me happy.

Started with Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries and enjoyed the episode again. The characters in Phyrne's past are always fun.

Caught another episode of Art Detectives and, I have to say, I thoroughly enjoy this show. Looking forward to the next episode.

Watched the season thirteen holiday special of Death in Paradise and enjoyed meeting Neville's mom. Should be fun to watch the last season of Inspector Parker's tenure.

Enjoyed another episode of Poirot. Kind of fun to see him on holiday and solving a murder. I'll admit the resolution came together a little oddly for me but an interesting episode nonetheless.

Caught another episode of Elementary and quite enjoyed Sherlock's revelations about friendship. So fun to watch Marcus chill with Sherlock at the end.

Watched another episode of Batman Beyond. Having the Royal Flush gang back proved fun. Also like Terry making a solid choice at the end to stick with Dana.

Enjoyed an episode of Classic Rugrats. The holiday themed episode is one I remember and I really need to add it to my holiday watch list if I do one this year.

That's pretty much it for the life update this week. Tonight's post is from Fair Play, a follow up to Imagination.

Here's the miniblurb:

Rand Allerdyce takes Holland Dukes by surprise, bringing their sexy games to her office when she's working late one evening. Rand plans to engage Holland's voyeuristic side and give her the thrill of possibly being caught. Holland loves the idea as much as she loves Rand.

And a snippety peek…

Gah, she's incredible.
If Rand didn't need to hurry, and if his dick didn't feel like it might go off at any second, he would pause to savor the view of Holland with her hands planted on the desk, her back arched and her ass sticking out. He grasped her hip with one hand and cupped a breast through the silky fabric of her camisole with the other. Holland threw her head back, giving him access to her throat.
He leaned forward, nipping lightly along her skin while pumping his hips back and forth. "You're hot and wet, Holls. I'm not gonna last long." His cock glided through her silky essence, and the heightened sense of possibly getting caught edged the tension up a notch.
Holland moaned. "I'm almost there, Rand." She lifted a hand and licked her fingers.
His shaft swelled, anticipating her next move. She dropped her arm between her legs and rubbed her clit. Goose bumps sprouted over her back.
Her breathing went shallow. "Get ready, here … I … go …" A shudder rippled through her and her internal walls tightened around his shaft.
Her fingers brushed over his hard flesh, and he toppled over the edge, emptying his seed deep within her. Dropping his head to her shoulder, he blew out a harsh breath. She never failed to blow his mind.
The vacuum sound stopped, and the rustle of trash being dumped into a bin carried through the closed door.
Rand straightened, gently withdrawing from Holland's core. "Cut it close, didn't we." He tucked his softened dick back inside his pants and tucked his shirt in.
Holland straightened her skirt and put her blouse back on, rapidly doing up the buttons. Rand handed over her heels and she slipped them on. They gave each other a quick once-over and Rand reached out to redo her top two buttons because she'd missed one.
She gave him a sexy smirk. "Fair play evened the score. I'll have to up my game next time." Her finger trailed from his shoulder to his sternum.
He caught her face in his hands. "I'll look forward to that." His thumb stroked over her bottom lip.
He couldn't wait to see what her creative mind came up with.

A little steamy goodness from Holland and Rand.

That's it for this week. Happy reading!

Sunday Snippet: Fair Play

Not a bad week. I made excellent headway on the two projects I'm editing and got some writing of my own done. The weather has been so nice and comfortable. Not quite chilly enough to be considered fall but also not the sweltering yuck we often have this time of year.

I'm finally more or less back on my regular viewing schedule. I might be dropping one of my streamers because they're going to paid only and, frankly, I'm not that interested in the content to pay five bucks a month for it. We'll see how it goes.

Caught several episodes of Classic Rugrats. I'm into season four and trawling through the memory banks. I love reminiscing about sitting with the kids and watching this when they were wee little ones.

Watched maybe the last episode of Chicago Med for me. This is the streamer that's going to paid only and I'm not that interested in continuing to watch. I'll see what happens in a few weeks.

Enjoyed two episodes of Batman: The Animated Series. I have so much love for this series and tend to rewatch on a semi-frequent basis. There's a very good stable of villains and the animation is great.

Caught another episode of Ted Lasso. Gotta say I thoroughly enjoyed Ted losing his shit with Rebecca. I also loved the whole method of breaking the curse. This is a great show.

Watched the season eight finale of The Brokenwood Mysteries. I have a behind the scenes episode to watch then another wait for new episodes. Looking forward to seeing what Mike had to say to the proposal at the end.

Enjoyed the second part of Silent Witness. Looking forward to seeing what season twenty has to offer. I'm loving the dynamic between the characters.

Finished up season twenty-five of Classic Who. Not a bad way to end the season. I also discovered there's at least one more so I'll start it this week.

Caught another episode of Strangest Things. I liked the segments in this episode. A hoax and a spectacular way-before-its-time device caught my attention.

Loved the episode of The Book of Boba Fett. It featured the return of the Mandalorian and I'm a little spoiled for season two of The Mandalorian because of this, but I'm totally okay with that.

Enjoyed another episode of Only Murders in the Building. This show. I have a lot of love for it and can't wait to jump in to season two.

Watched the season eight finale of Peak Practice. A lot of moving pieces and setting things up for next season. I'll be starting nine in the near future.

Caught another MasterClass lesson with Roxane Gay. She focused on the business of writing and I ended up getting some good information from this lesson.

Umbrella Academy ended up being great. I'm really loving this show. I very much enjoy finding out little bits and pieces about the characters and the pacing is excellent.

Hollace glanced up from her laptop. "Janie, did you get the email about the seven p.m. call with the Seattle office?" Why did they want to push the four o'clock phone meeting back today of all days?

Janie popped her head inside Hollace's office. "I did and Jones Lawrence just pinged me on our instant messenger to apologize. Apparently one of their partners is getting in late due to a delayed flight." She shook her head. "They don't want to reschedule to a different day because they need your input for a client meeting tomorrow." Janie hesitated a moment. "Do you need me to stay? Or come back?" Her gaze went to the clock, ticking toward three p.m.

Hollace waved her off. "No. I'll have them send the summary of the meeting to you via email. It'll be the least they can do for notifying us at the last moment." She grabbed her phone from her desk. "I'll stick around. By the time I get home, I'd have to turn around to come back in for the call." Her dinner plans with Rand would have to happen on another night.

Janie arched her brows. "Are you sure? I'll call the daycare center if you need me."

Hollace shook her head. "Uh-uh. Tim's working nights this week, right?" When Janie nodded, Hollace continued. "No way then. Head out at your normal time. No sense racking up additional fees." Especially when Janie hoped to become a homeowner soon.

Janie flashed a smile. "All right. But if they change the call to an earlier time, I can stay until six before I'm charged extra." She ducked back out and settled behind her desk.

Hollace swiped to her contacts and hit Rand's number.

He answered on the second ring. "Hello, beautiful. What do I owe for this midday call?"

Hollace pictured him behind his desk, jacket off and sleeves rolled up. "A rain check on dinner tonight. I have to stick around for late call from our Seattle location."

Rand tsked. "Rain check it is. We'll shoot for Thursday. I've got a light week."

She smiled. "Thursday should work. I'll grab some takeout on the way home. The Asian place around the corner has the best dumplings."

Rand hummed. "Mmm. Sounds great. I'll see you later." He signed off. "I love you."

Hollace returned the sentiment. "Love you, too." She ended the call and sat back in her chair.

Maybe she and Rand could have their cuisine in bed and dine naked.

I have an idea for a couple more stories with Rand and Hollace so this might end up as a small series. Yay!

That's it for this week. Happy reading!

Sunday Snippet: Fair Play

First week of August down and in the books. Next weekend we move my daughter to her dorm and pray for the best. They're doing a shortened semester, very similar to what a college quarter used to be. She'll be moving back right before Thanksgiving and won't return to campus until January.

Busy week with projects and random things that needed attention. I did get more of my desk cleared off for the big overhaul organization.

Limited viewing time this week but I got a few things watched. I did start Gabriel's Inferno part two and have about half of it finished. I actually decided to dedicate actual time to watching and not do anything else while it's playing. Hence the reason I'm only halfway through.

I watched another episode of Danger Man and also started a new episode of Blue Heelers. Like I said, busy week where I couldn’t spend the time I wanted to catching up on television.

I did have Ovation's morning mysteries on as background noise during the day. Murdoch Mysteries, Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, and Midsomer Murders for the win. I also caught a block of Numb3rs on Friday.

That's pretty much it for this week. Tonight's post is from Fair Play, a sexy short follow-up to Imagination.

Here's the mini-blurb:

Rand Allerdyce takes Holland Dukes by surprise, bringing their sexy games to her office when she's working late one evening. Rand plans to engage Holland's voyeuristic side and give her the thrill of possibly being caught. Holland loves the idea as much as she loves Rand.

And a snippety peek…

Rand Allerdyce entered the lobby of the office complex and stopped in to speak with the security guard. "Hey, Frank. I'm surprising Holland. We're supposed to have a late dinner but she's waiting on a call from the Seattle location."
Frank gave a nod. "Yeah, Ms. Dukes said she'd be here late." He waved Rand through the checkpoint.
Rand gave a two-fingered salute and headed toward the bank of elevators. "Never hurts to develop a solid relationship with the security guys." Hitting the call button, he selected Holland's floor when he stepped inside the car.
The quiet ride ended with an even quieter stroll through the empty space. Holland didn't have a corner office, but she had a wide expanse of windows and a nice view of the city.
Another grin crossed Rand's face. "And I think we'll start with the curtains open…"
The sun had started its descent and what he had in mind would be a bit of a thrill for her. Holland liked a little risk and he hoped his fair-play concept turned her on as much as it did him. After all, she'd outdone herself with her whole imagination concept a few weeks ago. He made a discreet adjustment to the rapidly hardening dick in his pants.
Pausing outside Holland's door, Rand listened for the cleaning crew. "Good, sounds like they're on the other side of this floor." That should give him time to enact his seduction.
He glanced into her space. She stood at the window, gazing at the rising moon. Crossing the carpeted expanse separating them, he wrapped his arms around her and nuzzled her throat. "Hello, my love." His hands drifted upward to cup her breasts. "I'm claiming my fair-play time." His palms brushed over her nipples and they puckered under the fabric of her silky blouse and camisole.
Holland's head fell back and she moaned. "Here? In my office?" She didn't object, her voice coming out as a purr.
Rand worked the buttons of her blouse free. "Yes, here. The risk of getting caught turns you on, doesn't it, Holland Dukes?" He untucked the shirt and camisole, sliding his fingers against her skin.

This sexy short is fun to write. I'm hoping I'll have another spark for more with this couple.

That's it for this week. Happy reading!
