Sunday Snippet: All Day Sucker (Bonus Scene from Black Unicorn Comics series)

Welcome June! Seriously, I feel like I'm still floating around back in March. The months are flying by right now.

Had a weird week of struggling to focus and I couldn't tell you why I ended up being so distracted. That drives me insane.

Decent viewing week. I only went through one round of my usual streaming services again and I'm actually kind of okay with that. Sometimes I need a bit of a break and can use the quiet time.

I did get another episode of The Snoopy Show watched and enjoyed it. I like to think the whole Peanuts gang has a special place in the hearts of GenX. At least it does for me.

I finished up Loch Ness and actually quite enjoyed the series. The twists and turns ended up panning out better than I'd hoped. Definitely glad I watched this one.

Caught the second part of Silent Witness and loved the twistiness of this two-parter. I also love that there wasn't a shiny bow on the end. Good stuff.

Started a new arc of Classic Who and I'm kind of interested in how this one plays out. Again, I notice how much Mel ends up screaming. It's a thing.

Watched another episode of Most Terrifying Places in America. At some point, I'd love to see a series where the ghosts and ghouls are actually friendly and helpful. That said, I love seeing the interviews with people who experienced the creepy creatures. Pure gold.

Enjoyed another episode of The Mandalorian. I love the pacing and the little bits of information that turn up and reveal themselves. Good stuff.

Caught another episode of The Hardy Boys. Gotta say Joe is beginning to annoy me but I'm hoping there's a reason he's being such a prat. Fenton's storyline is getting interesting and I love that the grown-ups get some random fleshing out.

Watched another episode of Peak Practice and enjoyed the storylines. It feels like some groundwork is being laid for future seasons and I'm liking that.

Finished up a MasterClass series with Neil deGrasse Tyson. While it wasn't as in depth as I thought it would be, I did get a lot of his lessons. Not sure what I'll start next, but I'm leaning toward Roxane Gay's series.

Caught another The Babysitter's Club and thoroughly enjoyed. I'm glad they're adding another sitter to the club and I really like how they're featuring the members.

Watched another episode of the Ready Room and liked the interview with James Frain. I like his character and it's nice to get some insight into the complicated relationships he has with his family.

Started season five of Chicago Med and I'm sad to say good-bye to Connor. I do love how they sent him off, especially the farewells he had with Goodwin and his mentor. The Will and Nat storyline is one I'm a little on the fence with. I'm really not down with the interloper making conflict, but I'll reserve judgment. Maggie is breaking my heart.

That's pretty much it for the life update this week. Tonight's post is from All Day Sucker, a bonus scene featuring Brian and Lucy from the Black Unicorn Comics series.

Here's the mini-blurb:

Brian and Lucy have competing comic book series, a friendly rivalry, and a terrific, sexy relationship. When Brian is blocked on his next installment, Lucy provides some steamy inspiration to help him get through it.

And a snippety peek…

The all-day sucker comment got him. Lucy certainly redefined steamy inspiration in the office. She did love to give head. And he loved getting it. So much.

A series of images rushed through his brain, popping like bubbles in ale. His hand stilled because the pictures kept flashing forward. His mind wouldn't settle on one.

Lucy removed her mouth from his shaft. "Stop. What's in your head right now?" Her tongue traced a circle around the tip of his dick.

Brian's lips kicked up and he scribbled a brief outline of the scene. Lucy went back to flicking her tongue around his cock then sucking hard while going deep. When his pen ceased movement, she repeated the process.

She eased back. "Stop. Freeze it there and write it down." Her cheeks hollowed out and she sank back over him again.

Within ten minutes, he had a full page of scenes outlined.

He set his pen aside. "Full page, Luce." His fingers threaded through her hair. "Thank you."

She paused and looked up. "You're welcome." A slow smile curved her lips. "Time for your reward." She started sucking in earnest and fondled his balls.

Didn't take him long to hit his peak. His hips flexed and he came hard. Relief and euphoria filled him in equal measure.

Lucy swallowed and leaned back, licking her lips. "Wanna up the ante?" Her eyebrows arched.

Brian's eyes went wide. "What do you have in mind?" He couldn't wait to hear how she'd top that incredible blow job.

I love this couple so much. I'm almost finished with the second story and have the third one plotted out and the fourth one is slowly but surely getting some attention.

That's it for this week. Happy reading!

Celebrate Your Freedom to Live, Love, & Read—Freedom Hop

 LET FREEDOM RING!

Welcome to the Freedom Hop, a great sampling of authors sharing short excerpts from their work. Please enjoy and consider picking up the full book by clicking on the buy link.

~*~

How wonderful is it to have the independence to choose how we live our lives, who we love, and what we read?

I'm lucky enough to have always had the choice and I've used my liberty to do what I love… write about hot romances between men and women, edit for authors who write about all kinds of love—from best friends who become lovers to same sex couples and relationships that include multiple partners, and read all of the above with voracious abandon.

When writing as Skylin O'Thomas, I tend to focus on contemporary romance, sometimes filled with those little relationship moments, but I also love to add a little adventure. There's something fun about weaving in tension with suspense or a perilous situation. It's also a joy to create adventure by adding a good bit of humor.

For this year's Freedom Hop, I'm sharing short samplings of all my current titles and a longer excerpt of my very first release, Down in Mexico, which I'm giving away for the blog hop.

Down in Mexico

Available on Amazon ~ $1.99

Kiernan Darby spends five long years playing dead. It's a life in limbo, but it lets Lars Rademacher do his job and eliminate the members of a lethal crime syndicate, Kiernan's former employers.

After discovering she's alive and well, Lars tracks Kiernan down in Mexico. Their reunion is sweet… until he reveals a pesky detail he conveniently forgot to mention.

Kiernan isn't completely safe. In fact, Lars is using her as bait to catch the last member of the espionage organization.

Excerpt:

Kier picked up her glass, sipped the wine, contemplating.
"I learned to shoot. Small arms for the most part, but I know how to sight and fire a rifle." Her hand twirled the glass and her gaze turned hard. "It may be overkill, but I keep a handgun in the house, my shop, the car. I have two on my boat along with a rifle." She raised her eyes to his. "I didn't plan to make it easy for them to kill me."
She wouldn't. Even without the small arsenal, she'd have put up a hell of a fight before going down. It was in her nature to battle back.
Lars reached across the table and laced his fingers with her free hand. "You were smart, Kier. You had no way of knowing what would happen after you left."
She shrugged a shoulder. "There have been several times over the last five years that I've felt like something was off. Not quite right." She squeezed his hand. "It'll take some getting used to… this being safe thing."
Shit. He had to come clean. Now.
He had a feeling it wouldn't be pretty.
"Uh, Kier, about that." He took a deep breath and just spit it out. "You may not be that far off base thinking something's not quite kosher."
Her brow knit with confusion. "But I thought you said—"
"I did. I lied."
Her mouth opened, then snapped shut. So many emotions crossed her face he couldn't keep up with them.
She got up and paced the kitchen. "What exactly did you lie about?"

Book Tagline: Boy meets and falls for girl. Girl 'dies' in a fiery explosion. Five years later, they meet again.

Smokin' Hot—Hot and Bothered: Creative Ink

Welcome to the Hot for Friday blog hop!

Readers: Enjoy posts from authors with fun weekly tasks or a cool question.

Authors: Get in on the fun and join here.

Greetings!

This week we're tasked with sharing a scene with sexual tension to leave us hot and bothered. Nice! Especially if you live in a cold climate… like Ohio in March. Seriously, I have to remind myself I was wearing shorts and flip flops in October sometimes. LOL

For my feature, I'm posting a scene from book one of my Black Unicorn series, Creative Ink.

For a little background, here are the series and book taglines:

Black Unicorn Comics—collective genius or creative madness—follow the adventures of Brian, Lucy and their friends and decide.

Brian and Lucy are on the verge of mainstream success—watch it happen in Creative Ink.

Bring on the tension…

Chelle trapped her prey by the water cooler. "Brian, how about lunch?" She lifted a hand and smoothed away a non-existent speck of lint from the well-defined chest of her quarry. "We can go over the new promo for Xavier." She added the flirty eyelash thing she liked to whip out on him.
Lucy gritted her teeth and her monitor flashed again.
::She shoots…::
Brian stepped back and shook his head. "Not today, Chelle." He lifted his blue gaze and leveled it directly at Lucy. "I've got plans for lunch."
::Oh snap! Someone's gonna score and it ain't Miss Thang. You go, girl!::
Lucy bit back a laugh, but couldn't suppress the delicious little shiver Brian's words caused.
::Think about it. You live five minutes away. Lovely day… a lot you can do in an hour::
Lucy shook her head and keyed a quick reply. ::Shut up::
Zapf grinned while he typed his next missive. ::Aww, come on. You know he's hot for it. Give him some, babes::
::Shut. Up::
::Plenty of time for wild monkey sex. Just saying::
Brian sidestepped Chelle and slowly made his way toward Lucy's desk.
::Zapf!::
Brian's eyes did a slow once over, making Lucy hot and leaving no doubt what he wanted to feast on during lunch.
Blip
::Wild::
Blip
::Monkey::
Blip
::Sex::
Brian stopped at the edge of her desk and lifted a brow.
Her fingers furiously typed out a message.
::Taking a long lunch, Z Man. Later::
She closed the window, grabbed her bag, and practically ran out the door with Brian.

Smokin' Hot—Hot Encounter: Creative Ink (A Black Unicorn Comic Adventure)

Welcome to the Hot for Friday blog hop!

Greetings!

This week we're tasked with sharing a hot encounter, whether it's the first time or one of many others between the characters. Awesome! As mentioned in last week's post, I'm in Ohio and the subzero temps make reading the hot and steamy even more of a treat. :D

For my feature, I'm sharing a steamy moment from my current release, Creative Ink, Episode One in the Black Unicorn Comic Adventure series.

For a little background, here are the series and book taglines:

Black Unicorn Comics—collective genius or creative madness—follow the adventures of Brian, Lucy and their friends and decide.

Brian and Lucy are on the verge of mainstream success—watch it happen in Creative Ink.

Bring on the hot stuff…

He let her have a few moments of fun before he turned the tables and worked her into a frenzy of need with his lips, tongue, and fingers, catching hold of her when she tried to dash up the stairs. The man had his own wicked good time, teasing and tantalizing, using feather light strokes, nips, and flicks while slowly urging her up the steps.
Lucy indulged one of Brian's few requests and let him remove whatever lingerie she had on, since she so rarely wore it at all. He slid the straps of the purple satin down so slowly Lucy thought she might have to take matters into her own hands. He'd still been in the mood to tease, tempt, and torment her after getting her all hot and bothered on the way up the stairs.
Lucy's bra hung from one of the iron knobs on the antique bed she'd inherited from her grandmother. The matching thong got buried somewhere under the frothy white comforter Brian's gran gave them as a housewarming gift when she'd visited from the UK.
He'd sped things up with the panties, hooking the scrap of fabric with one finger and giving it a few playful tugs until he cleared her feet. Shoving it off to the side, he delved between her legs and drove her mad with his mouth. Soft flicks turned stronger and harder when Brian flattened his tongue to swipe back and forth. He pushed her to the edge of orgasm twice before finally giving over control, rolling to his back and dragging Lucy up and over him. She gave him a wide smile, then lifted her hips, settling slowly over his rigid cock. His hands came up to cup her breasts and he left them there, kneading the flesh, brushing his thumbs over her taut nipples. Brian held her gaze, letting her set the pace while she rode him to a mind-bending climax.

Smokin' Hot—Hot and Swoon-Worthy: Creative Ink (A Black Unicorn Comic Adventure)

Welcome to the Hot for Friday blog hop!

Readers: Enjoy posts from authors with fun weekly tasks or a cool question.

Authors: Get in on the fun and join here.

After a forced hiatus where I descended into deadline hell, I finally get to rejoin my fellow authors with a new Hot for Friday blog post. YAY!

This week we're tasked with posting a piece of dialog where our hero gets to take center stage and deliver a swoon-worthy line to the heroine. I can't wait to read some smooth moves from our heroes.

For my feature, I'm posting one of my favorite bits from my current release, Creative Ink, Episode One in the Black Unicorn Comic Adventure series.

For a little background, here are the series and book taglines:

Black Unicorn Comics—collective genius or creative madness—follow the adventures of Brian, Lucy and their friends and decide.

Brian and Lucy are on the verge of mainstream success—watch it happen in Creative Ink.

And the swoon-worthy dialog…(from Lucy's point of view)

Brian's mouth thinned. "You did not just say that." He grasped her arm, turning her to face him.
Lucy grimaced. "Yeah, I did." She couldn't quite believe it herself.
Brian shook his head. "Come now. You know Chelle made me mental long before Reg caught her eye. Two months into the relationship gave me more than enough reason to cut and run."
Chagrined, Lucy acknowledged the truth of his words. "Yeah, I know. And I'm sorry for the bitch comment."
Brian tugged her forward, moving his hand down to cup her ass. "You know what else?" He pressed their hips together, letting her feel the hard ridge of his cock under his jeans. "You're the only woman who has ever kept me in a constant state of arousal."

~*~

Lucy has a very playful and positive reaction to Brian's declaration. :D

I'm revisiting one of my first releases, Creative Ink, a Black Unicorn Comics Adventure and a sexy little short story designed to be a hot, quick read. I'll be posting a series of pivotal scenes over the next couple of weeks. Please enjoy!

No, the Black Unicorn Comic series isn't a comic book or graphic novel. Yet. But it is something of a different concept. The series is set around the adventures of the main couple and their co-workers for an indie comic book company and the stories are somewhat short with no more than four to six 'acts'. The idea came from one of my writing groups where we were challenged to come up with the idea for a TV show, cast the characters, and write a short story to create the visual. The overwhelming and positive feedback for Creative Ink convinced me to start the series.

Lucy Sanderson sat in front of the monitor, eyes riveted to the screen.
So into the material, she almost missed seeing Brian Wells enter the office. She finished reading the page just as he settled into his seat across from her, a mug of hot coffee in his hand.
Lucy cocked her head sideways. "So…" She drew the word out. "Where do you get the shit in your head?" She fought back a smile when his confused eyes flew to hers over the top of the cup. "I mean does it just exist there waiting to come pouring out, or do you have to work at creating it?" She purposefully waited until he had a mouthful of coffee before she added. "Or does wanting me to be half naked all the time inspire you?"
To his credit, Brian choked down most of the hot liquid, managing to keep the bit that did spew out to a minimum. "Dammit, Lucy. You hacked my password again, didn't you?" He grabbed a napkin to wipe his chin.
Lucy gave him a cheeky grin. "I keep telling you to make it harder. Altering your birth date by a few days is too easy." She picked up her mug of coffee and took a drink.
Brian mumbled something she couldn't quite make out—probably a threat for payback. But she called him on the password thing all the time.
"If I make it too hard, I won't remember the bloody thing."
Lucy chuckled gleefully. Brian never failed to entertain her, and his British accent came out in full force when he got riled about something. Two of the many things she loved about him.

She sat up and leaned closer. "Seriously, Brian. The issue you're working on now is gonna blow people away."

Sunday Snippet: Creative Ink

January 27, 2013

Greetings! Week number four and a milestone for me. A full month of posts. Woo!!

It's probably ridiculous, but once I find a groove, I tend to stick with things. And I've seen and heard about keeping blog content fresh and regular for reader who want to interact with authors. I'm one step closer to getting on that track.

Tonight's Sunday Snippet features a preview of my upcoming release, Creative Ink. I don't have a date for it yet, but it's off with the editor. Creative Ink will be launching the Black Unicorn Comics series, which I've sort of set up to resemble episodes. They'll be fairly quick reads, but should be packed with snarky fun times. And this cast of characters is so much fun to write. The story concept came from a friend of mine who posted this prompt, an inside look at a small indie publisher, as a cast the TV show challenge. I got so inspired by casting the characters, the sages got busy and started throwing plot bombs. Seriously, the first episode nearly wrote itself. (That so doesn't happen very often. LOL)

So, here's the tag line:

Brian Wells and Lucy Sanderson are the creative duo behind the rising success of Black Unicorn Comics. Surrounded by a close knit group of co-workers they have fun and crazy adventures, keeping their relationship burning hot in spite of it.

And here's the snippety peek…

Brian always sent his hero, Xavier, on the best adventures. But he'd turned things upside down for his next issue. Instead of having Xavier outsmart the Zone militia, Brian ended the installment with Xavier behind bars. The last panel would be a full page rendering of Xavier's confinement in a rat infested cell.
Lucy shuddered. "I'm not kidding, Brian. It's awesome."
He smiled sheepishly. "It is coming together brilliantly."
She nodded. "There's only one thing I gotta know…"
He answered before she even voiced the question. "Yes. Marta is going to save him." He gave her a sly smile. "She'll have strip for the regiment to get Xavier out of hack, but it's a small price to pay, yeah?"
Lucy threw her ever handy stress ball at him. "You shit. Tell me you didn't promise Harry I'd pose for that."
It wouldn't be the first time she questioned her sanity about agreeing to be the model for Marta, Brian's alien warrior/goddess/side kick for his epic hero, Xavier the X-Tra-Terrestrial.
Brian lifted a brow. "It might be too late for that."
Lucy rolled her eyes. "You can tell Harry to eff off. I will not add more material for his masturbatory fantasies." Harry might be incredible with ink, but his people skills were sorely lacking sometimes.
Brian smirked. "Uh, love…it's definitely too late for that. He has an entire wall of you in…well, let's call them compromising positions."
Lucy rose slowly from her seat, walked gracefully around the desk and stood behind Brian. She leaned forward and let her lips graze over his ear.
"If you ever want to have me in a compromising position again, you'll rectify that." Her hands lightly squeezed Brian's shoulders then smoothed down the front of his chest. "Make sure those drawings are gone by the end of the day, 'kay?"
Straightening back up, she flicked her tongue against his ear—it always made him wild—then turned and walked away.

I mentioned the characters are loads of fun to write, yeah? The next episode has Brian, Lucy and crew at Crazy Con (fictional as far as I know. :D) and hijinks ensue, per usual.

And that's it for this week's post. I hope you enjoyed.
